Privacy Policy
How preclinics collects, uses, and protects personal data on this website.
1. Responsible party
preclinics — address TBD (placeholder, to be completed during legal review).
2. Data collected when visiting this website
When you visit this website, our server automatically logs standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, pages visited, and time of access. This data is processed to ensure the secure and stable operation of the website.
3. Request-a-quote form
When you submit the request-a-quote form, we process the data you provide in the form: your full name, business email, company or institution, study type, species, requested analyses, study outline, target start date, additional information, and any attachments you upload. This data is processed for the purpose of preparing a quotation for you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract initiation). Your inquiry is forwarded to the responsible study director at preclinics, who will contact you to discuss the details. Emails are delivered through Resend, which acts as our email delivery processor (sending infrastructure in the EU; Resend processes account data in the US on the basis of standard contractual clauses).
4. Download gate (Case Studies)
Only Case Studies are provided through a short gate form. Service brochures, method documents and all other downloadable resources are freely available without any form. When you request a Case Study download, we process your name, business email, role or function, and organization in order to provide the requested file and to send you the download link by email. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in fulfilling your request and understanding who uses our materials). Providing this data is voluntary; without it, the gated download cannot be delivered.
Optionally and separately, you may consent to receive occasional updates about preclinics publications and services. This consent is never a condition for the download (Art. 7(4) GDPR), is based on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, and can be revoked at any time with effect for the future. You may object to the use of your data for direct marketing at any time (Art. 21(2) GDPR).
Contact data collected through the gate is stored in our email and contact platform Resend, which acts as our processor. Resend processes this data in the US on the basis of standard contractual clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and has concluded a data processing agreement with us. Repeated downloads are linked to your existing contact record in order to enrich the profile with the resources you requested.
5. Marketing consent
The marketing consent checkbox is optional and separate from your project inquiry or download. If you opt in, we may use your email address to send occasional updates about preclinics services and news. You can revoke this consent at any time, with effect for the future. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).
Opt-in is confirmed through a double opt-in procedure: after submitting the form, you receive a confirmation email from our email marketing platform and are only added to the marketing list once you click the confirmation link. Marketing contacts are stored in Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group, LLC, USA), which acts as our processor for marketing communications. Mailchimp processes this data in the US on the basis of standard contractual clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and has concluded a data processing agreement with us. For this purpose we store your name, email address, company, the wording and timestamp of your consent, and the source of the opt-in (quote request or case study download).
6. Retention
Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law. Download-gate contact data without marketing consent is deleted after 24 months of inactivity.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to the processing of your personal data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the details below.
8. Contact for data protection matters
Contact details for data protection matters are to be completed during legal review. For any data protection requests, please reach out via the contact details provided on our contact page.
